For this project, I retold the old story of Red Riding Hood. In my version, Mr. Red Trippy Hood is bored with his friend and they decide to take some psychedelics.

My idea for the movie was to show common conceptions about taking LSD. Many people assume that if you take a psychedelic you will always hallucinate or that you will have a bad trip. In my short movie, I show Mr. Red Trippy Hood hugging trees and having crazy hallucinations that seem real to him to dramatize these assumptions.

By the end of the movie, Mr. Red Trippy Hood is fine after his trip showing that many people who have taken a psychedelic go back to normal life afterwards. I think it is exciting that Denver could be the first city to decriminalize mushrooms. This could lead to possible health benefits for people with mental illness.

I think the original ending to Little Red Riding Hood is abrupt and leaves you thinking "sooooo...", but I guess the morale of the story is to not wander around alone and to not talk to strangers. I guess the moral of Mr. Red Trippy Hood is that psychedelics aren't as bad as people think and that they can lead to some fun experiences and maybe even have health benefits one day.
